How to properly manually input vehicle info for toyotas, autodecoding of the vin doesnt work, cant get manual way to either.

Autodecoding the vin has not worked for any toyota that ive tried, when doing the manual selection and believing i put the info in correctly, when selecting any function it says, ecu doesnt support function. Have not had this problem with any other vehicle. Is this normal, what am i missing?
